Tuesday’s Bento

Ooof, what a crazy day!

Thankfully, I had a really nice lunch, courtesy of my dear husband, The Angry Chef. I told him last night that my day today would most likely be nuts, so he got up earlier than usual to make me an extra nice lunch.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that get you through the day.

Yummy bento lunch + Ramones playlist on iTunes = A little bit of sanity right when I needed it.

Enough said. (Well, almost.)

I’d also like to share the spiffy new bag I snagged to tote my bento around in.

Made by the stylish and crafty folks at Built NY, the Hungry Tote is the perfect size to keep my bento box (and a Greek yogurt and an apple) safe and unmolested in the communal office fridge for the morning.

I discovered it on our recent trip to Whole Foods, and picked it up, despite the fact that it’s marketed as a tote for baby-type equipment like bottles and such.

For just about $20, it’s washable, insulated, and unassumingand exactly what I was looking for.

Allow me to present Tuesday’s bento.

Bottom Tier
Stir-fried sesame beef with garlic, ginger, snow peas, carrots, and mushrooms.

Top Tier
Crispy bacon bun with slices of Vermont cheddar cheese and brown-sugar cranberry sauce.

Digg!

  1. Very nice......That lunch looks pretty yummy - i am about to wander out and grab something for lunch.... maybe a wrap or something... I just had to drop in and say Hi. I hope you have a less busy day today. Can't wait to see your next post. Zesty
  2. Thanks, guys! Reeni--I've been inhaling the bacon buns. :D Of course, after I eat my lunch, I want to curl up under my desk and take a little nap... Them Apples--Aww, tuna's good, too! I swear, though, lunch is just better in general when it's in a bento. (I totally admit that I'm a sucker for packaging.) Mel--Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can find the bags, too. They make a bunch of different ones (for wine, etc.)
