Ahoy! So, we have some exciting news!

Now, I love Pepperidge Farm puff pastry. Truly, I do. It’s been my puff pastry of choice for 15 years, maybe longer. It’s flaky and buttery and crisp (not to mention reliable and dependent).

So, when Pepperidge Farm recently asked us to do a little recipe development for them, we jumped at the chance! We’re honored to be one of eight blogs asked to participate in the Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Challenge.

The good folks at Pepperidge Farm even offered to ply us with puff pastry and pay us for our time. (Thanks, guys!)

Help me decide what to make!

Alrighty. I have a handful of ideas, but I was hoping to get some input from you guys.

Here’s the official challenge from Pepperidge Farms:

Create a sophisticated and simple original recipe using Pepperidge Farm puff pastry sheets and a native New England ingredient, like cranberries, etc.

The recipe can be for any course: appetizer, entree, or dessert. Need a little inspiration? Check out PuffPastry.com.

Our final recipe

Our final recipe will be tested by Pepperidge Farm’s kitchen, and then will appear on PuffPastry.com, alongside an exclusive recipe collection by Top Chef judge Gail Simmons (love her!).

Cheers and thanks so much for your help!

  1. one of my very favorite things is the day after thanksgiving day sandwich. and i love puff pastry! imagine cutting into a warm round of puff pastry to find turkey slices, some delicious stuffing maybe with dried fruits and nuts for texture; topped with a warm cranberry compote mixing with a bit of turkey gravy? yummmm!!
  2. How about a turkey, cranberry and maple syrup filling. Depending on what you feel like, you can do it as a pot pie, a dough stuffed creation or an appetizer. Good luck! What ever you decide, I know it will be yummy:)
