I need to geek out for a minute.

(We’ll get back to our regularly scheduled recipes shortly. I have a pie in the oven as we speak.)

So, some of you may remember that I’m a huge fan of David Petersen, creator of the Eisner-award winning Mouse Guard comic series.

He was kind enough to draw a chef mouse for me at New York Comic Con a few years back, at the request of our good friend David Bunnyhunter.

That’s this guy here:

David was actually at Harrison’s, our local comic shop here in Salem, for free comic book day recently.

We chatted a little, and because we stopped by at just the right time, he agreed to sign a copy of his free comic, AND whip up gypsy mouse as a companion for my chef. (OMG!)

If you don’t know it, and you like tales of adventure (especially if they include mice with swords), definitely check out The Mouse Guard!

David will be at Boston Comic Con next month. (Comic Con’s Facebook is here.) You can be sure one of us will be stopping by to say hello!
