The Hungry Mouse Best Blog Northshore Magazine 2013Ahoy!

Quick note today with super awesome news!

We’re so honored to announce that The Hungry Mouse won Best Blog, editor’s choice, in the 2013 Best of the Northshore (BONS) awards, presented by Northshore Magazine.

Thanks, guys! We’re so proud. Can you see us beaming from here? 🙂

Home is where the heart is

While our readership spans the globe at this point, our local peeps here on the Northshore of Massachusetts are near and dear to our hearts.

If you’re not from around here, you should know that we folks north of Boston are a fiercely opinionated bunch who are notoriously hard to impress. So it means a TON to us that our neighbors are interested in our kitchen antics. <3

When I got the news that we won, I ran around to a handful of local grocery stores happily photographing the issue like a total dork.

Read our ice cream feature in the same issue

In addition to the BONS award, we actually also have a pretty big feature in their ice cream article.

Get my tips for making boozy frozen treats, plus my recipe for Tipsy Witch Granita from my cookbook, Slushed!

That’s this stuff here. It’s a heady concoction of rosemary-infused simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and herbal Strega (or St. Germain) liquor. One of my all-time summer favs.

Cool off with a copy of my cookbook

There’s still plenty of ice cream weather left this summer! Order a copy of my cookbook, Slushed!: More Than 150 Frozen, Boozy Treats for the Coolest Happy Hour Ever on Amazon today.

Cheers and many thanks again!

Thanks again to all of you who read every week and support us here—and across the internet on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.

We love you lots! Stay tuned for a lot more fun before the summer’s over.

Take care,

  1. CONGRATULATIONS! You have a terrific web site and deserve lots of applause! (The town of Salem should give you an award as well for profiling their city so beautifully!) Cheers, Kathy Maister
